25 Ziv (Iyyar) - 1 Sheliyshiy Chodesh (Sivan)
PARSHAT: Yahusha 24:15-25
And if it seem evil unto you to serve את eth-YAHUAH, choose you את eth-this day whom ye will serve; whether את eth-the elohai which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or את eth-the elohiym of the Emoriym, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve את eth-YAHUAH. 16 And the people answered and said, Far be it that we should forsake את eth-YAHUAH, to serve other elohiym; 17 For YAHUAH ELOHAYNU, he it is that brought us up את eth-and our fathers out of the land of Mitsrayim, from the house of bondage, and which did את eth-those great signs in our sight, and did guard us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed: 18 And YAHUAH drove out from before us את eth-all the people, even את eth-the Emoriym which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve את eth-YAHUAH; for he is our ELOHIYM. 19 And Yahusha said unto the people, Ye cannot serve את eth-YAHUAH: for he is a holy ELOHIYM; he is a jealous EL; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. 20 If ye forsake את eth-YAHUAH, and serve strange elohai, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he has done you good. 21 And the people said unto El-Yahusha, Nay; but we will serve את eth-YAHUAH. 22 And Yahusha said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you את eth-YAHUAH, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses. 23 Now therefore put away, said he, את eth-the strange elohai which are among you, and incline your heart unto EL-YAHUAH ELOHAI of Yashar’el. 24 And the people said unto El-Yahusha, את eth-YAHUAH ELOHAYNU will we serve, and his voice will we obey. 25 So Yahusha cut a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shekem.
HAFTORAH: Yesha`yahu 53:1-12; Yovheliym 2:20-32
WHO has believed our report? and to whom is the arm of YAHUAH revealed? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he has no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of ELOHIYM, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and YAHUAH has laid on him את eth the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare את eth-his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave את eth-with the wicked, and את eth-with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased YAHUAH to bruise him; he has put him to grief: when you shall make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of YAHUAH shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous Servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil את eth-with the strong; because he has poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered את eth-with the transgressors; and he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
And he said unto us: Behold, I will separate unto myself a people from among all the peoples, and these shall guard the Shabbath, and I will sanctify them unto myself as my people, and will bless them; as I have sanctified the Shabbath and do sanctify it unto myself, even so will I bless them, and they shall be my people and I will be their ELOHIYM. 21 And I have chosen the seed of Ya`aqov from amongst all that I have seen, and have written him down as my firstborn son, and have sanctified him unto myself forever and ever; and I will teach them the Shabbath, that they may guard the Shabbath thereon from all work. 22 And thus he created therein a sign in accordance with which they should guard the Shabbath with us on the seventh day, to eat and to drink, and to bless him who has created all things as he has blessed and sanctified unto himself a peculiar people above all peoples, and that they should guard the Shabbath together with us.
23 And he caused his commands to ascend as a sweet savour acceptable before him all the days. 24 There were two and twenty heads of mankind from Adam to Ya`aqov, and two and twenty kinds of work were made until the seventh day; this is blessed and holy; and the former also is blessed and holy; and this one serves with that one for sanctification and blessing. 25 And to this Ya`aqov and his seed it was granted that they should always be the blessed and qodeshiym of the first testimony and Torah, even as he had sanctified and blessed the Shabbath on the seventh day. 26 He created heaven and earth and everything that he created in six days, and ELOHIYM made the seventh day holy, for all his works; therefore he commanded on its behalf that, whosoever does any work thereon shall die, and that he who defiles it shall surely die.
27 Wherefore do you command the children of Yashar’el to observe this day that they may keep it holy and not do thereon any work, and not to defile it, as it is holier than all other days. 28 And whosoever profanes it shall surely die, and whosoever does thereon any work shall surely die eternally, that the children of Yashar’el may observe this day throughout their generations, and not be rooted out of the land; for it is a holy day and a blessed day. 29 And everyone who observes it and guards Shabbath thereon from all his work, will be holy and blessed throughout all days like unto us. 30 Declare and say to the children of Yashar’el the Torah of this day both that they should guard the Shabbath thereon, and that they should not forsake it in the error of their hearts; and that it is against the Torah to do any work thereon which is unseemly, to do thereon their own pleasure, and that they should not prepare thereon anything to be eaten or drunk, and that it is against the Torah to draw water, or bring in or take out thereon through their gates any burden, which they had not prepared for themselves on the sixth day in their dwellings. 31 And they shall not bring in nor take out from house to house on that day; for that day is more holy and blessed than any jubilee day of the jubilees; on this we kept Shabbath in the heavens before it was made known to any flesh to guard the Shabbath thereon on the earth.
32 And the Creator of all things blessed it, but he did not sanctify all peoples and nations to guard the Shabbath thereon, but Yashar’el alone: them alone he permitted to eat and drink and to guard the Shabbath thereon on the earth.
BESORAH: Luqas 1:5-50
THERE was in the days of Herod, the king of Yahud, a certain priest named Zakaryahu, of the course of Aviyahu: and his woman was of the daughters of Aharon, and her name was Eliysheva.[i] 6 And they were both righteous before YAH, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of YAHUAH blameless. 7 And they had no child, because that Eliysheva was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years. 8 And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before YAHUAH in the order of his course, 9 According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the Temple of YAHUAH. 10 And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense. 11 And there appeared unto him an angel of YAHUAH standing on the right side of the altar of incense. 12 And when Zakaryahu saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. 13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zakaryahu: for your prayer is heard; and your woman Eliysheva shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Yahuchanon. 14 And you shall have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth. 15 For he shall be great in the sight of YAHUAH, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the RUACH HAQODESH, even from his mother's womb. 16 And many of the children of Yashar’el shall he turn to EL-YAHUAH ELOHAYHEM. 17 And he shall go before him in the ruach and power of Eliyahu, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for YAHUAH. 18 And Zakaryahu said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my woman well stricken in years. 19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gavriy’el, that stand in the presence of YAHUAH; and am sent to speak unto you, and to show you this good news. 20 And, behold, you shall be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because you believed not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season. 21 And the people waited for Zakaryahu, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the Temple. 22 And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the Temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless. 23 And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house. 24 And after those days his woman Eliysheva conceived, and hid herself five months, saying, 25 Thus has YAH dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men. 26 And in the sixth month the angel Gavriy’el was sent from YAHUAH unto a city of Galiyl, named Natsareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Yoceph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Miryam. 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, you that are highly favoured, YAH is with you: blessed are you את eth among women. 29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Miryam: for you have found favour with YAH. 31 And, behold, you shall conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call his name YAHUSHA. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of EL ELYON: and YAHUAH ELOHIYM shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Ya`aqov forever; and of his Kingdom there shall be no end. 34 Then said Miryam unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The RUACH HAQODESH shall come upon you, and the power of EL ELYON shall overshadow you: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of you shall be called the Son of ELOHIYM. 36 And, behold, your cousin Eliysheva, she has also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37 For with YAH nothing shall be impossible. 38 And Miryam said, Behold the handmaid of YAHUAH; be it unto me according to your word. And the angel departed from her. 39 And Miryam arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Yahudah; 40 And entered into the house of Zakaryahu, and saluted Eliysheva. 41 And it came to pass, that, when Eliysheva heard the salutation of Miryam, the babe leaped in her womb; and Eliysheva was filled with the RUACH HAQODESH: 42 And she spoke out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed are you את eth among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. 43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my ADONAI should come to me? 44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of your salutation sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. 45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from YAHUAH. 46 And Miryam said, My soul magnifies את eth-YAHUAH, 47 And my ruach has rejoiced in YAH my Saviour. 48 For he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. 49 For he that is mighty has done to me great things; and holy is his name. 50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
