As we discuss the shed blood of the lamb of YAHUAH, let us consider the full scope of the work on the cross.
Yahuchanon Rishon (I John) 2:1-2
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Here we see the word propitiation, which in the Greek is ιλαμος (hilasmos). Hilasmos means in the first instance, atonement.
Again, the scope of the atonement in the blood of HAMASHIACH is directly dependent upon the understanding of the edict set forth in Vayiqra:
Vayiqra (Leviticus) 17:11
For the life (nefesh) of the flesh (basar) is in the blood (dawm): and I have given (natan) it to you upon the altar (mizbeyach) to make an atonement (kaphar) for your souls (nefeshtakiym): for it is the blood (dawm) that makes an atonement (kaphar) for the soul (nefesh).
Shimon Peter then goes on to tell us that HAMASHIACH bore all of the sins of the world in his own body on the tree.
Kepha Rishon (I Peter) 2:24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree; that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
And Yahuchanon tells us that the baring of the sins on the tree worded to redeem believers out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.
Chizayon (Revelation) 5:9
And they sung a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for you were slain, and have redeemed us to ELOHIYM by your blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
Let us then take a moment to consider the cross, and the piercings of MASHIACH on that cross, upon which the blood was shed for the redemption of mankind.
Let us summarize:
ADONAI YAHUSHA MASHIACH was pierced in the right hand for the sinful acts of the right hand.
ADONAI YAHUSHA MASHIACH was pierced in the left hand for the sinful acts of the left hand.
ADONAI YAHUSHA MASHIACH was pierced in the right foot for the sinful walk of the right foot.
ADONAI YAHUSHA MASHIACH was pierced in the left foot for the sinful walk of the left foot.
ADONAI YAHUSHA MASHIACH was pierced on the head by the crown of thorns for the sinful thoughts of the mind.
ADONAI YAHUSHA MASHIACH was pierced in the heart for the sins of the heart.
There are two other propitiations worthy of consideration. First, by his stripes (where blood was shed) we are healed. But there is one other concern, which did not occur at the crucifixion.
Lucas (Luke) 2:21-39
And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called YAHUSHA, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb. 22 And when the days of her purification according to the Torah of Mosheh were accomplished, they brought him to Yerushalayim, to present him to YAHUAH; 23 (As it is written in the Torah of YAHUAH, Every male that opens the womb shall be called holy to YAHUAH;) 24 And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the Torah of YAHUAH, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons. [First Witness:] 25 And, behold, there was a man in Yerushalayim, whose name was Shim`on; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Yisra’el: and the RUACH HAQODESH was upon him. 26 And it was revealed unto him by the RUACH HAQODESH, that he should not see death, before he had seen YAHUAH’S תא eth-MASHIACH. 27 And he came by the RUACH into the Temple: and when the parents brought in the child YAHUSHA, to do for him after the custom of the Torah, 28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed YAH, and said, 29 YAHUAH, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word: 30 For my eyes have seen your YAHUSHA, 31 Which you have prepared before the face of all people; 32 A light to lighten the other people, and the glory of your people Yisra’el. 33 And Yoceph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him. 34 And Shim`on blessed them, and said unto Miryam his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Yisra’el; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; 35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through your own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed. [Second Witness:] 36 And there was one Channah, a prophetess, the daughter of Penu’el, of the tribe of Asher: she was of a great age, and had lived with a man seven years from her virginity; 37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the Temple, but served תא eth-YAHUAH with fastings and prayers night and day. 38 And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto YAHUAH, and spoke of him to all them that looked for redemption in Yerushalayim. 39 And when they had performed all things according to the Torah of YAHUAH, they returned into Galiyl, to their own city Natsareth.
