Weekly Torah Portion

It is considered a great joy to study the Torah via the portions that were set out by Ezra to read through the Cepheriym Mosheh (Five Books of Moses), also referred to as the Pentateuch. In addition to the traditional Torah portions, we have also included weekly readings from the Haftorah (Prophets) and the Besorah (Gospels). These portions are also collectively available in our publication titled Parshat; a hardcover perpetual book for annual study. PARSHAT: Vayiqra (Leviticus) 6:8 - 8:36

8 And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh, saying: 9 Command Aharon and his sons, saying: This is the Torah of the ascending smoke offering: It is the ascending smoke offering, because of the burning upon the altar all night to the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be burning in it. 10 And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen breeches shall he put upon his flesh and take up the ashes which the fire has consumed with the ascending smoke offering on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar. 11 And he shall put off his garments, and put on other garments, and carry forth the ashes without the camp to a clean place. 12 And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning and lay the ascending smoke offering in order upon it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. 13 The fire shall always be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.

14 And this is the Torah of the oblation: the sons of Aharon shall offer it before Yahuah, before the altar. 15 And he shall take his handful of it, of the flour of the oblation, and of the oil thereof, and את all the frankincense, which is upon the oblation, and shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savor, even the memorial of it, to Yahuah. 16 And the remainder thereof shall Aharon and his sons eat: with matstsah shall it be eaten in the holy place; in the court of the Tabernacle of the assembly they shall eat it. 17 It shall not be baked with leaven. I have given it to them for their portion of my offerings made by fire; it is most holy, as is the sin offering, and as the trespass offering. 18 All the males among the children of Aharon shall eat of it. It shall be a statute forever in your generations concerning the offerings of Yahuah made by fire: everyone that touches them shall be holy.

19 And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh, saying: 20 This is the offering of Aharon and of his sons, which they shall offer to Yahuah in the day when he is anointed; the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a perpetual oblation, half of it in the morning, and half thereof at night. 21 In a pan it shall be made with oil; and when it is baked, you shall bring it in: and the baked pieces of the oblation shall you offer for a sweet savor to Yahuah. 22 And the priest of his sons that is anointed in his stead shall offer it: it is a statute forever to Yahuah; it shall be wholly burnt. 23 For every oblation for the priest shall be wholly burnt: it shall not be eaten.

24 And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh, saying: 25 Speak to El-Aharon and to his sons, saying: This is the Torah of the sin offering: In the place where the ascending smoke offering is killed shall the sin offering be killed before Yahuah: it is most holy. 26 The priest that offers it for sin shall eat it: in the holy place shall it be eaten, in the court of the Tabernacle of the assembly. 27 Whatsoever shall touch the flesh thereof shall be holy: and when there is sprinkled of the blood thereof upon any garment, you shall wash that whereon it was sprinkled in the holy place. 28 But the earthen vessel wherein it is soddened shall be broken: and if it is soddened in a brazen pot, it shall be both scoured, and rinsed in water. 29 All the males among the priests shall eat of it: it is most holy. 30 And no sin offering, in which the blood has been brought into the Tabernacle of the assembly to reconcile in the holy place, shall be eaten: it shall be burnt in the fire.

Chapter 7

1 Likewise this is the Torah of the trespass offering: it is most holy. 2 In the place where they kill the ascending smoke offering shall they kill the trespass offering: and the blood thereof shall he sprinkle around about upon the altar. 3 And he shall offer of it all the fat thereof; את the rump, and the fat that covers the inwards, 4 And the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the caul that is above the liver, with the kidneys, shall he take away: 5 And the priest shall burn them upon the altar for an offering made by fire to Yahuah: it is a trespass offering. 6 Every male among the priests shall eat thereof: it shall be eaten in the holy place: it is most holy. 7 As the sin offering is, so is the trespass offering: there is one Torah for them: the priest that makes atonement therewith shall have it. 8 And the priest that offers any man's ascending smoke offering, even the priest shall have to himself the skin of the ascending smoke offering which he has offered. 9 And all the oblation that is baked in the oven, and all that is dressed in the frying pan, and in the pan, shall be the priest's that offers it. 10 And every oblation, mingled with oil, and dry, shall all the sons of Aharon have, one as much as another. 11 And this is the Torah of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he shall offer to Yahuah. 12 If he offers it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving matstsah cakes mingled with oil, and matstsah wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mingled with oil, of fine flour, fried. 13 Besides the cakes, he shall offer for his offering chamets with the sacrifice of thanksgiving of his peace offerings. 14 And of it he shall offer one out of the whole oblation for a heave offering to Yahuah, and it shall be the priest's that sprinkles the blood of the peace offerings. 15 And the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving shall be eaten the same day that it is offered; he shall not leave any of it until the morning. 16 But if the sacrifice of his offering is a vow, or a voluntary offering, it shall be eaten the same day that he offers his sacrifice: and on the morrow also the remainder of it shall be eaten: 17 But the remainder of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burnt with fire. 18 And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings is eaten at all on the third day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be imputed to him that offers it: it shall be an abomination, and the soul that eats of it shall bear his iniquity. 19 And the flesh that touches any unclean thing shall not be eaten; it shall be burnt with fire: and as for the flesh, all that are clean shall eat thereof. 20 But the soul that eats of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, that pertain to Yahuah, having his uncleanness upon him, even that soul shall be cut off from his people. 21 Moreover the soul that shall touch any unclean thing, as the uncleanness of man, or any unclean beast, or any abominable unclean thing, and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which pertain to Yahuah, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.

22 And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh, saying: 23 Speak to the children of Yashar'el, saying: You shall eat no manner of fat, of the ox, or of sheep, or of goat. 24 And the fat of the beast that dies of itself, and the fat of that which is torn with beasts, may be used in any other use: but you shall in no wise eat of it. 25 For whosoever eats the fat of the beast, of which men offer an offering made by fire to Yahuah, even the soul that eats it shall be cut off from his people. 26 Moreover you shall eat no manner of blood, whether it is of fowl or of beast, in any of your dwellings. 27 Whatever soul eats any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.

28 And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh, saying: 29 Speak to the children of Yashar'el, saying: He that offers the sacrifice of his peace offerings to Yahuah shall bring his oblation to Yahuah of the sacrifice of his peace offerings. 30 His own hands shall bring את the offerings of Yahuah made by fire, the fat with the breast, it shall he bring, את that the breast may be waved for a wave offering before Yahuah. 31 And the priest shall burn the fat upon the altar: but the breast shall be Aharon's and his sons'. 32 And the right shoulder shall you give to the priest for a heave offering of the sacrifices of your peace offerings. 33 He among the sons of Aharon, that offers the blood of the peace offerings, and the fat, shall have the right shoulder for his part. 34 For the wave breast and the heave shoulder have I taken of the children of Yashar'el from off the sacrifices of their peace offerings and have given them to Aharon the priest and to his sons by a statute forever from among the children of Yashar'el.

35 This is the portion of the anointing of Aharon, and of the anointing of his sons, out of the offerings of Yahuah made by fire, in the day when he presented them to minister to Yahuah in the priest's office; 36 Which Yahuah commanded to be given them of the children of Yashar'el, in the day that he anointed them, by a statute forever throughout their generations. 37 This is the Torah of the ascending smoke offering, of the oblation, and of the sin offering, and of the trespass offering, and of the consecrations, and of the sacrifice of the peace offerings; 38 Which Yahuah commanded Mosheh in Mount Ciynai, in the day that he commanded the children of Yashar'el to offer their oblations to Yahuah, in the wilderness of Ciynai.

Chapter 8

1 And Yahuah spoke to El-Mosheh, saying: 2 Take Aharon and his sons with him, and את the garments, and את the anointing oil, and את a bullock for the sin offering, and את two rams, and את a basket of matstsah; 3 And gather all the assembly together to the door of the Tabernacle of the assembly. 4 And Mosheh did as Yahuah commanded him; and the assembly was gathered together to the door of the Tabernacle of the assembly. 5 And Mosheh said to the assembly: This is the thing which Yahuah commanded to be done. 6 And Mosheh brought Aharon and his sons and washed them with water. 7 And he put upon him the coat, and girded him with the belt, and clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod upon him, and he girded him with the belt of the ephod and bound it to him therewith. 8 And he put the breastplate upon him: also he put in the breastplate the Uriym and the Tummiym. 9 And he put the turban upon his head; also upon the turban, even upon his forefront, did he put את the golden plate, the holy crown; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh. 10 And Mosheh took the anointing oil, and anointed the Tabernacle and all that was therein, and sanctified them. 11 And he sprinkled thereof upon the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all his vessels, both the laver and his foot, to sanctify them. 12 And he poured the anointing oil upon Aharon's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him. 13 And Mosheh brought Aharon's sons, and put coats upon them, and girded them with belts, and put bonnets upon them; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh. 14 And he brought את the bullock for the sin offering: and Aharon and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the bullock for the sin offering. 15 And he slew it; and Mosheh took the blood and put it upon the horns of the altar around about with his finger, and purified the altar, and poured the blood at the bottom of the altar, and sanctified it, to make reconciliation upon it. 16 And he took all the fat that was upon the inwards, and את the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and Mosheh burned it upon the altar. 17 But the bullock, and his hide, his flesh, and his dung, he burnt with fire without the camp; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.

18 And he brought את the ram for the ascending smoke offering: and Aharon and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram. 19 And he killed it; and Mosheh sprinkled the blood upon the altar around about. 20 And he cut the ram into pieces; and Mosheh burnt the head, and the pieces, and the fat. 21 And he washed the inwards and the legs in water; and Mosheh burnt the whole ram upon the altar: it was an ascending smoke sacrifice for a sweet savor, and an offering made by fire to Yahuah; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.

22 And he brought the other ram, the ram of consecration: and Aharon and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram. 23 And he slew it; and Mosheh took of the blood of it and put it upon the tip of Aharon's right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot. 24 And he brought Aharon's sons, and Mosheh put of the blood upon the tip of their right ear, and upon the thumbs of their right hands, and upon the great toes of their right feet: and Mosheh sprinkled the blood upon the altar around about. 25 And he took the fat, and the rump, and all the fat that was upon the inwards, and את the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and את the right shoulder: 26 And out of the basket of matstsah, that was before Yahuah, he took one matstsah cake, and a cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, and put them on the fat, and upon the right shoulder: 27 And he put all upon Aharon's hands, and upon his sons' hands, and waved them for a wave offering before Yahuah. 28 And Mosheh took them from off their hands and burnt them on the altar upon the ascending smoke offering: they were consecrations for a sweet savor: it is an offering made by fire to Yahuah. 29 And Mosheh took the breast and waved it for a wave offering before Yahuah: for of the ram of consecration it was Mosheh's part; as Yahuah commanded Mosheh. 30 And Mosheh took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which was upon the altar, and sprinkled it upon Aharon, and his garments, and upon his sons, and upon his sons' garments with him; and sanctified Aharon, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.

31 And Mosheh said to El-Aharon and to his sons: Boil the flesh at the door of the Tabernacle of the assembly: and there eat it with the bread that is in the basket of consecrations, as I commanded, saying: Aharon and his sons shall eat it. 32 And that which remains of the flesh and of the bread shall you burn with fire. 33 And you shall not go out of the door of the Tabernacle of the assembly in seven days, until the days of your consecration be at an end: for seven days shall he consecrate you. 34 As he has done this day, so Yahuah has commanded to do, to make an atonement for you. 35 Therefore shall you abide at the door of the Tabernacle of the assembly day and night seven days, and guard the watch of Yahuah, that you die not: for so I am commanded. 36 So Aharon and his sons did את all things which Yahuah commanded by the hand of Mosheh.

HAFTORAH: Mal'akiy (Malachi) 3:4 - 4:4

4 Then shall the offering of Yahudah and Yerushalayim be pleasant to Yahuah, as in the days of old, and as in former years. 5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against those who break wedlock, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, says Yahuah Tseva'oth. 6 For I am Yahuah, I change not; therefore you sons of Ya'aqov are not consumed.

7 Even from the days of your fathers you are gone away from my ordinances and have not guarded them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says Yahuah Tseva'oth. But you said: Wherein shall we return?

8 Will a man rob Elohiym? Yet you have robbed me. But you say: Wherein have we robbed you? In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse: for you have robbed me, even this whole nation. 10 Bring you all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house, and prove me now herewith, says Yahuah Tseva'oth, if I will not open you את the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, says Yahuah Tseva'oth. 12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for you shall be a delightsome land, says Yahuah Tseva'oth.

13 Your words have been stout against me, says Yahuah. Yet you say: What have we spoken so much against you? 14 You have said: It is vain to serve Elohiym: and what profit is it that we have guarded his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before Yahuah Tseva'oth? 15 And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt Elohiym are even delivered.

16 Then they that feared Yahuah spoke often one to another: and Yahuah hearkened, and heard it, and a cepher of record was written before him for those who feared Yahuah, and that thought upon his name. 17 And they shall be mine, says Yahuah Tseva'oth, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son that serves him. 18 Then shall you return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serves Elohiym and him that serves him not.

Chapter 4

1 For behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that comes shall burn them up, says Yahuah Tseva'oth, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

2 But to you that fear my name shall the brilliance of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and you shall go forth and grow up as calves of the stall. 3 And you shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, says Yahuah Tseva'oth.

4 Remember you the Torah of Mosheh my servant, which I commanded to him in Chorev for all Yashar'el, with the commandments and judgments.

BESORAH: Marqus (Mark) 7:31 - 8:38

31 And again, departing from the coasts of Tsor and Tsiydon, he came to the Sea of Galiyl, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis. 32 And they brought to him one that was deaf and had an impediment in his speech; and they sought him to put his hand upon him. 33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; 34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him: Pathach, that is: Be opened. 35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly. 36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much more they published it a great deal; 37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying: He has done all things well: he makes both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

Chapter 8

1 In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Yahusha called to his Talmidiym, and said to them: 2 I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat: 3 And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for many of them came from far. 4 And his Talmidiym answered him: From where can a man satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness? 5 And he asked them: How many loaves do you have? And they said: Seven. 6 And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks and broke, and gave it to his Talmidiym to set before them; and they did set them before the people. 7 And they had a few small fish: and he blessed and commanded to set them also before them. 8 So they did eat and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets. 9 And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he sent them away.

10 And straightway he entered into a ship with his Talmidiym and came to the parts of Dalmanutha. 11 And the Peretsiym came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him. 12 And he sighed deeply in his ruach, and said: Why does this nation seek after a sign? Amein I say to you: There shall no sign be given to this nation. 13 And he left them and entering the ship again he departed to the other side.

14 Now the Talmidiym had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf. 15 And he charged them, saying: Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Peretsiym, and of the leaven of Herod. 16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying: It is because we have no bread. 17 And when Yahusha knew it, he said to them: Why do you reason, because you have no bread? Do you neither perceive, nor understand? Has your heart yet hardened? 18 Having eyes, see not? And having ears, hear not? And do you not remember? 19 When I broke the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up? They said to him: Twelve. 20 And when the seven went among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up? And they said: Seven. 21 And he said to them: How is it that you do not understand?

22 And he came to Beyt Tsayad; and they brought a blind man to him and sought of him to touch him. 23 And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw anything. 24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. 25 After that he put his hands again upon his eyes and made him look up: and he was restored and saw every man clearly. 26 And he sent him away to his house, saying: Do not go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.

27 And Yahusha went out, and his Talmidiym, into the towns of Qeycaryah Philippi: and by the way he asked his Talmidiym, saying to them: Whom do men say that I am? 28 And they answered: Yahuchanon the Baptizer: but some say, Eliyahu; and others, One of the prophets. 29 And he said to them: But who do you say that I am? And Kepha answered and said to him: You are Ha'Mashiach. 30 And he charged them that they should tell no man of him. 31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of A'dam must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. 32 And he spoke that saying it openly. And Kepha took him and began to rebuke him. 33 But when he had turned about and looked on his Talmidiym, he rebuked Kepha, saying: Get behind me, Satan: for you savor not the things that are of Elohiym, but the things that are of men.

34 And when he had called the people to him with his Talmidiym also, he said to them: Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the Besorah's, the same shall save it. 36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful nation; of him the Son of A'dam shall also be ashamed, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
