Weekly Torah Portion

It is considered a great joy to study the Torah via the portions that were set out by Ezra to read through the Cepheriym Mosheh (Five Books of Moses), also referred to as the Pentateuch. In addition to the traditional Torah portions, we have also included weekly readings from the Haftorah (Prophets) and the Besorah (Gospels). These portions are also collectively available in our publication titled Parshat; a hardcover perpetual book for annual study. Parshat: Devariym (Deuteronomy) 31:1–30

AND Mosheh went and spoke these words unto all Yashar’el. 2 And he said unto them: I am a hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no longer go out and come in: also Yahuah has said unto me: You shall not go over this Yardan. 3 Yahuah Elohayka, he will go over before you, and he will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall possess them: and Yahusha, he shall go over before you, as Yahuah has said. 4 And Yahuah shall do unto them as he did to Ciychon and to Og, kings of the Emoriym, and unto the land of them, whom he destroyed. 5 And Yahuah shall give them up before your face, that ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have commanded you. 6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for Yahuah Elohayka, he it is that goes with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you.

7 And Mosheh called unto Yahusha and said unto him in the sight of all Yashar’el: Be strong and of a good courage: for you must go with this people unto the land which Yahuah has sworn seven oaths unto their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it. 8 And Yahuah, he it is that goes before you; he will be with you, he will not fail you, neither forsake you: fear not, neither be dismayed.

9 And Mosheh wrote this Torah and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Leviy, which bore the Ark of the Covenant of Yahuah, and unto all the elders of Yashar’el. 10 And Mosheh commanded them, saying: At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the Feast of Cukkoth, 11 When all Yashar’el is come to appear before Yahuah Elohayka in the place which he shall choose, you shall read this Torah before all Yashar’el in their hearing. 12 Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and your stranger that is within your gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear Yahuah Elohaykem, and guard to do all the words of this Torah: 13 And that their children, which have not known anything, may hear, and learn to fear Yahuah Elohaykem, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over the Yardan to possess it.

14 And Yahuah said unto Mosheh: Behold, your days approach that you must die: call Yahusha, and present yourselves in the Tabernacle of the assembly, that I may give him a charge. And Mosheh and Yahusha went and presented themselves in the Tabernacle of the assembly. 15 And Yahuah appeared in the Tabernacle in a pillar of a cloud: and the pillar of the cloud stood over the door of the Tabernacle.

16 And Yahuah said unto Mosheh: Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers; and this people will rise up and go a whoring after the elohai of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have cut with them. 17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day: Are not these evils come upon us, because our Elohiym is not among us? 18 And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other elohiym. 19 Now therefore write ye this song for you and teach it the children of Yashar’el: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Yashar’el. 20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore seven oaths unto their fathers, that flows with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other elohiym, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant. 21 And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles have befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I swore seven oaths.

22 Mosheh therefore wrote this song the same day and taught it the children of Yashar’el. 23 And he gave Yahusha the son of Nun a charge and said: Be strong and of a good courage: for you shall bring the children of Yashar’el into the land which I swore seven oaths unto them: and I will be with you.

24 And it came to pass, when Mosheh had made an end of writing the words of this Torah in a cepher, until they were finished, 25 That Mosheh commanded the Leviyiym, which bore the Ark of the Covenant of Yahuah, saying: 26 Take את this Cepher of the Torah, and put it in the side of the Ark of the Covenant of Yahuah Elohaykem, that it may be there for a witness against you. 27 For I know your rebellion, and your stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against Yahuah; and how much more after my death?

28 Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, את and call the heavens and the earth to record against them. 29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of Yahuah, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands. 30 And Mosheh spoke in the ears of all the assembly of Yashar’el the words of this song, until they were ended.

Haftorah: Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) 64:1-12

O that you would rend the heavens, that you would come down, that the mountains might flow down at your presence, 2 As when the melting fire burns, the fire causes the waters to boil, to make your name known to your adversaries, that the nations may tremble at your presence! 3 When you did terrible things which we looked not for, you came down, the mountains flowed down at your presence. 4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither has the eye seen, O Elohiym, beside you, what he has prepared for him that waits for him. 5 You meet him that rejoices and works righteousness, those that remember you in your ways: behold, you are wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved. 6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness is as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. 7 And there is none that calls upon your name, that stirs up himself to take hold of you: for you have hid your face from us, and have consumed us, because of our iniquities. 8 But now, O Yahuah, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; and we all are the work of your hand.

9 Be not wroth very sore, O Yahuah, neither remember iniquity forever: behold, see, we beseech you, we are all your people. 10 Your holy cities are a wilderness, Tsiyon is a wilderness, Yerushalayim a desolation. 11 Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised you, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste. 12 Will you refrain yourself for these things, O Yahuah? Will you hold your peace, and afflict us very sore?

Besorah: Luqas (Luke) 24:24-43

And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not. 25 Then he said unto them: O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Ought not Mashiach to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning at Mosheh and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. 28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. 29 But they constrained him, saying: Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. 30 And it came to pass, as he sat to eat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and broke, and gave to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. 32 And they said one to another: Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us את the Scriptures? 33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Yerushalayim, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, 34 Saying: Adonai is risen indeed, and has appeared to Shim`on. 35 And they told what things את were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.

36 And as they thus spoke, Yahusha himself stood in the midst of them, and said unto them: Peace be unto you. 37 But they were terrified and frightened and supposed that they had seen a ruach. 38 And he said unto them: Why are ye troubled? And why do thoughts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a ruach has not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 40 And when he had thus spoken, he showed them את his hands and his feet. 41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them: Have ye here any meat? 42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of a honeycomb. 43 And he took it and did eat before them.
