Google mandated that we update our mobile app to comport with their latest platform requirements. Had we not complied, they would have completely removed the Cepher mobile app from the Google Playstore.  We believe the new update is a great improvement in that users now have the option of syncing their data via the cloud.  The previous version did not allow users to transfer data to a new device, nor did it allow for syncing between devices.

If you haven't already read the previous blog explaining how to sync your data, please click here.  Below are a few more answers to the frequently asked questions we've received regarding the new update.

Q: Why don't I see an update for the Cepher mobile app on the Google Playstore?

A: The Cepher app is only supported on Android 7 (circa 2016) and above. If you have an older Android device, you will not be able to install the latest updates, and as such, they will not appear on Google Play. To be able to install the latest updates, either upgrade your phone's operating system, or upgrade to a newer phone.

Q: Why can't I press and hold to take notes?

A: To take notes in the new version of the Cepher app, simply tap on the verse instead of long-pressing to open the note taking dialog box.

Q: How do I downgrade to the previous version of the Cepher mobile?

A: The Google Playstore does not allow users to downgrade to older versions of apps. This is out of our control, and is not a restriction imposed by us. If you want to prevent your device from automatically installing updates, go into your Google Playstore settings and disable automatic updates.
