Weekly Torah Portion

It is considered a great joy to study the Torah via the portions that were set out by Ezra to read through the Cepheriym Mosheh (Five Books of Moses), also referred to as the Pentateuch. In addition to the traditional Torah portions, we have also included weekly readings from the Haftorah (Prophets) and the Besorah (Gospels). These portions are also collectively available in our publication titled Parshat; a hardcover perpetual book for annual study. Parshat: Vayiqra (Leviticus) 21:1 - 24:23

AND Yahuah said unto Mosheh: Speak unto the priests the sons of Aharon, and say unto them: There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people: 2 But for his kin, that is near unto him, that is, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother, 3 And for his sister a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which has had no man; for her may he be defiled. 4 But he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself. 5 They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh. 6 They shall be holy unto their Elohiym, and not profane the name of their Elohiym: for the offerings of Yahuah made by fire, and the bread of their Elohiym, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy. 7 They shall not take a woman that is a whore, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her man: for he is holy unto his Elohiym8 You shall sanctify him therefore, for he offers the bread of your Elohiym: he shall be holy unto you: for I Yahuah, which sanctify you, am holy.

9 And the daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by playing the whore, she profanes her father: she shall be burnt with fire. 10 And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes; 11 Neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother; 12 Neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane את the sanctuary of his Elohiym; for the crown of the anointing oil of his Elohiym is upon him: I am Yahuah13 And he shall take a woman in her virginity. 14 A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or a harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to be his woman. 15 Neither shall he profane his seed among his people: for I Yahuah do sanctify him.

16 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 17 Speak unto El־Aharon, saying: Whosoever he be of your seed in their generations that has any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his Elohiym18 For whatsoever man he be that has a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that has a flat nose, or anything superfluous, 19 Or a man that is broken footed, or brokenhanded, 20 Or crookbacked, or a dwarf, or that has a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or has his stones broken; 21 No man that has a blemish of the seed of Aharon the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of Yahuah made by fire: he has a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer את the bread of his Elohiym22 He shall eat the bread of his Elohiymboth of the most holy, and of the holy. 23 Only he shall not go in unto the veil, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he has a blemish; that he profanes not my sanctuaries: for I Yahuah do sanctify them. 24 And Mosheh told it unto El־Aharon, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Yashar’el.

Chapter 22

And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 2 Speak unto El־Aharon and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Yashar’el, and that they profane not my holy name in those things which they hallow unto me: I am Yahuah3 Say unto them: Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goes unto the holy things, which the children of Yashar’el hallow unto Yahuah, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am Yahuah4 What man soever of the seed of Aharon is a leper or has a running issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And whoso touches anything that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goes from him; 5 Or whosoever touches any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he has; 6 The soul which has touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he washes his flesh with water. 7 And when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things, because it is his food. 8 That which dies of itself, or is torn with beasts, he shall not eat to defile himself therewith: I am Yahuah9 They shall therefore guard my ordinance, lest they bear sin for it, and die therefore, if they profane it: I Yahuah do sanctify them. 10 There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest, or a hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing. 11 But if the priest buys any soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they shall eat of his meat. 12 If the priest's daughter also be married unto a stranger, she may not eat of an offering of the holy things. 13 But if the priest's daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father's house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father's meat: but there shall no stranger eat thereof.

14 And if a man eats of the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give it unto the priest with the holy thing. 15 And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Yashar’el, את which they offer unto Yahuah16 Or suffer them to bear the iniquity of trespass, when they eat their holy things: for I Yahuah do sanctify them.

17 And Yahuah spoke unto El־Mosheh, saying: 18 Speak unto El־Aharon, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Yashar’el, and say unto them: Whatsoever he be of the house of Yashar’el, or of the strangers in Yashar’el, that will offer his oblation for all his vows, and for all his freewill offerings, which they will offer unto Yahuah for an ascending smoke offering; 19 Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the cattle, of the sheep, or of the goats. 20 But whatsoever has a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you. 21 And whosoever offers a sacrifice of peace offerings unto Yahuah to accomplish his vow, or a freewill offering in cattle or sheep, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein. 22 Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a running sore, or scurvy, or scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto Yahuah, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto Yahuah23 Either a bullock or a lamb that has anything superfluous or lacking in his parts, that may you offer for a freewill offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted. 24 Ye shall not offer unto Yahuah that which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your land. 25 Neither from a stranger's hand shall ye offer the bread of your Elohiym of any of these; because their corruption is in them, and blemishes be in them: they shall not be accepted for you.

26 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 27 When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be seven days under the dam; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto Yahuah28 And whether it be cow or ewe, ye shall not kill it and her young both in one day. 29 And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto Yahuah, offer it at your own will. 30 On the same day it shall be eaten up; ye shall leave none of it until the morrow: I am Yahuah31 Therefore shall ye guard my commandments and do them: I am Yahuah32 Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Yashar’el: I am Yahuah which hallow you, 33 That brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, to be your Elohiym: I am Yahuah.

Chapter 23

And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 2 Speak unto the children of Yashar’el, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of Yahuah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy assemblies, even these are my feasts. 3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Shabbath of rest, a holy assembly; ye shall do no work therein: it is the Shabbath of Yahuah in all your dwellings.

4 These are the feasts of Yahuaheven holy assemblies, which ye shall proclaim in their appointed times. 5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is Yahuah’s Pecach. 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Matstsah unto Yahuah: seven days ye must eat matstsah. 7 In the first day ye shall have a holy assembly: ye shall do no servile work therein. 8 But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuah seven days: in the seventh day is a holy assembly: ye shall do no servile work therein.

9 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 10 Speak unto the children of Yashar’el, and say unto them: When ye are come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest unto the priest: 11 And he shall wave the sheaf before Yahuah, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the Shabbath the priest shall wave it. 12 And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf a he-lamb without blemish of the first year for an ascending smoke offering unto Yahuah13 And the oblation thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto Yahuah for a sweet savor: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of a hin. 14 And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched grain, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your Elohiymit shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Shabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Shabbaths shall be complete: 16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh Shabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a renewed oblation unto Yahuah17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven; they are the first fruits unto Yahuah18 And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for an ascending smoke offering unto Yahuah, with their oblation, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savor unto Yahuah19 Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings. 20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the first fruits for a wave offering before Yahuah, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to Yahuah for the priest. 21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be a holy assembly unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

22 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, you shall not make clean riddance of the corners of your field when you reap, neither shall you gather any gleaning of your harvest: you shall leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am Yahuah Elohaykem.

23 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 24 Speak unto the children of Yashar’el, saying: In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a Shabbath, a memorial of blowing of shofars, a holy assembly. 25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuah.

26 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month is Yom Kippuriym: it shall be a holy assembly unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuah28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is Yom Kippuriym, to make an atonement for you before Yahuah Elohaykem29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. 30 And whatsoever soul it be that does any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. 31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 32 It shall be unto you a Shabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening unto evening, shall ye celebrate your Shabbath.

33 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 34 Speak unto the children of Yashar’el, saying: The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Cukkoth for seven days unto Yahuah35 On the first day shall be a holy assembly: ye shall do no servile work therein36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuah: on the eighth day shall be a holy assembly unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuah: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein37 These are the feasts of Yahuah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy assemblies, to offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuah, an ascending smoke offering, and an oblation, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, everything upon his day: 38 Beside the Shabbaths of Yahuah, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto Yahuah39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto Yahuah seven days: on the first day shall be a Shabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a Shabbath. 40 And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before Yahuah Elohaykem seven days. 41 And ye shall keep it a feast unto Yahuah seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. 42 Ye shall dwell in cukkoth seven days; all that are Yashar’el born shall dwell in cukkoth: 43 That your generations may know that I made the children of Yashar’el to dwell in cukkoth, when I brought them out of the land of Mitsrayim: I am Yahuah Elohaykem44 And Mosheh declared unto the children of Yashar’el the feasts of Yahuah.

Chapter 24

And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 2 Command the children of Yashar’el, that they bring unto you pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually. 3 Without the veil of the testimony, in the Tabernacle of the assembly, shall Aharon order it from the evening unto the morning before Yahuah continually: it shall be a statute forever in your generations. 4 He shall order the lamps upon the pure menorah before Yahuah continually.

5 And you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake. 6 And you shall set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before Yahuah7 And you shall put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto Yahuah8 Every Shabbath he shall set it in order before Yahuah continually, being taken from the children of Yashar’el by an everlasting covenant. 9 And it shall be Aharon's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of Yahuah made by fire by a perpetual statute.

10 And the son of a Yashar`e’liyth woman, whose father was a Mitsriy, went out among the children of Yashar’el: and this son of the Yashar`e’liyth woman and a man of Yashar’el strove together in the camp; 11 And the Yashar`e’liyth woman's son blasphemed the name of Yahuah, and cursed. And they brought him unto Mosheh: (and his mother's name was Shelomiyth, the daughter of Divriy, of the tribe of Dan:) 12 And they put him in ward, that the mind of Yahuah might be showed them. 13 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 14 Bring forth him that has cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the assembly stone him. 15 And you shall speak unto the children of Yashar’el, saying: Whosoever curses his Elohiym shall bear his sin. 16 And he that blasphemes the name of Yahuah, he shall surely be put to death, and all the assembly shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemes the name of Yahuah, shall be put to death.

17 And he that kills any man shall surely be put to death. 18 And he that kills a beast shall make it good, beast for beast. 19 And if a man causes a blemish in his neighbor; as he has done, so shall it be done to him; 20 Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he has caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again21 And he that kills a beast, he shall restore it: and he that kills a man, he shall be put to death. 22 Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am Yahuah Elohaykem.

23 And Mosheh spoke to the children of Yashar’el, that they should bring forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stone him with stones. And the children of Yashar’el did as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.

Haftorah: Yechezq’el (Ezekiel) 44:15-31

But the priests the Leviyiym, the sons of Tsadoq, that guarded the watch of my sanctuary when the children of Yashar’el went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, says Adonai Yahuah16 They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall guard my watch.

17 And it shall come to pass, that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and no wool shall come upon them, while they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within. 18 They shall have linen bonnets upon their heads and shall have linen breeches upon their loins; they shall not gird themselves with anything that causes sweat. 19 And when they go forth into the utter court, even into the utter court to the people, they shall put off their garments wherein they ministered, and lay them in the holy chambers, and they shall put on other garments; and they shall not sanctify the people with their garments. 20 Neither shall they shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to grow long; they shall only poll their heads. 21 Neither shall any priest drink wine, when they enter into the inner court. 22 Neither shall they take for their women a widow, nor her that is put away: but they shall take maidens of the seed of the house of Yashar’el, or a widow that had a priest before. 23 And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean. 24 And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall guard my Torah and my statutes in all my assemblies; and they shall hallow my Shabbaths. 25 And they shall come at no dead person to defile themselves: but for father, or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister that has had no man, they may defile themselves. 26 And after he is cleansed, they shall reckon unto him seven days. 27 And in the day that he goes into the sanctuary, unto the inner court, to minister in the sanctuary, he shall offer his sin offering, says Adonai Yahuah28 And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Yashar’el: I am their possession. 29 They shall eat the oblation, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; and every dedicated thing in Yashar’el shall be theirs. 30 And the first of all the firstfruits of all things, and every oblation of all, of every sort of your oblations, shall be the priest's: ye shall also give unto the priest the first of your dough, that he may cause the blessing to rest in your house. 31 The priests shall not eat of anything that is dead of itself, or torn, whether it be fowl or beast.

Besorah: Luqas (Luke) 11:1 - 12:59

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his Talmidiym said unto him: Adonai, teach us to pray, as Yahuchanon also taught his Talmidiym. 2 And he said unto them: When ye pray, say,

Our Father who established yeshu`ah in the heavens, exalted is your name. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done in earth, as in the heavens. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our transgressions; for we also forgive everyone that has transgressed against us. And lead us away from the evil inclination; but deliver us from the outer darkness.

5 And he said unto them: Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; 6 For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? 7 And he from within shall answer and say: Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give you. 8 I say unto you: Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needs. 9 And I say unto you: Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For everyone that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. 11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? 12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Ruach Ha’Qodesh to them that ask him?

14 And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spoke; and the people wondered. 15 But some of them said: He casts out devils through Ba`al Zebub the chief of the devils. 16 And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven. 17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them: Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house, falls. 18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? Because ye say that I cast out devils through Ba`al Zebub. 19 And if I by Ba`al Zebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore shall they be your judges. 20 But if I with the finger of Elohiym cast out devils, no doubt the Kingdom of Elohiym is come upon you. 21 When a strong man armed keeps his palace, his goods are in peace: 22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he takes from him all his armor wherein he trusted and divides his spoils. 23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathers not with me scatters. 24 When the unclean ruach is gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, I will return unto my house whence I came out. 25 And when he comes, he finds it swept and garnished. 26 Then goes he and takes to him seven other ruachoth more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

27 And it came to pass, as he spoke these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice and said unto him: Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts which you have sucked. 28 But he said: Yea rather, blessed are they that hear את the Word of Elohiym, and guard it.

29 And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say: This is an evil nation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Yonah the prophet. 30 For as Yonah was a sign unto the inhabitants of Niyneveh, so shall also the Son of A’dam be to this nation. 31 The Queen of the South shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this nation and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Shalomah; and behold, a greater than Shalomah is here. 32 The men of Niyneveh shall rise up in the judgment with this nation and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Yonah; and behold, a greater than Yonah is here. 33 No man, when he has lighted a candle, puts it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a menorah, that they which come in may see the light. 34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when your eye is single, your whole body also is full of light; but when your eye is evil, your body also is full of darkness. 35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in you be not darkness. 36 If your whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle gives you light.

37 And as he spoke, a certain Parashiy besought him to dine with him: and he went in and sat down to meat. 38 And when the Parashiy saw it, he marveled that he had not first washed before dinner. 39 And Adonai said unto him: Now do ye Parashiym make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. 40 Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also? 41 But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and behold, את all things are clean unto you. 42 But woe unto you, Parashiym! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of Elohiym: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. 43 Woe unto you, Parashiym! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets. 44 Woe unto you, scribes and Parashiym, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

45 Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him: Rabbi, thus saying you reproach us also. 46 And he said: Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers. 47 Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. 48 Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres. 49 Therefore also said the wisdom of Elohiym, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute: 50 That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this nation; 51 From the blood of H’avel unto the blood of Zakaryahu, which perished between the altar and the Temple: truly I say unto you: It shall be required of this nation. 52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered. 53 And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Parashiym began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things: 54 Lying in wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.

Chapter 12

1 In the meantime, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, so much so that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his Talmidiym first of all: Beware ye of the leaven of the Parashiym, which is hypocrisy. 2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. 3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. 4 And I say unto you my friends: Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will forewarn you whom את ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he has killed has power to cast into Gey Hinnom; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before Elohiym7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. 8 Also I say unto you: Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of A’dam also confess before the angels of Elohiym9 But he that denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of Elohiym10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of A’dam, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemes against the Ruach Ha’Qodesh it shall not be forgiven. 11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: 12 For the Ruach Ha’Qodesh shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

13 And one of the company said unto him: Rabbi, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. 14 And he said unto him: Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? 15 And he said unto them: Take heed and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses. 16 And he spoke a parable unto them, saying: The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17 And he thought within himself, saying: What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18 And he said: This will I do: I will pull down my barns and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul: Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20 But Elohiym said unto him: You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: then whose shall those things be, which you have provided? 21 So is he that lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward Elohiym.

22 And he said unto his Talmidiym: Therefore I say unto you: Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. 23 The life is more than food, and the body is more than raiment. 24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and Elohiym feeds them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? 25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? 26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? 27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Shalomah in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 If then Elohiym so clothe the grass, which is today in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? 29 And seek ye not what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. 30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knows that ye have need of these things.

31 But rather seek ye the Kingdom of Elohiym; and all these things shall be added unto you. 32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you את the Kingdom. 33 Sell that ye have and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts. 34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; 36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their adoniy, when he will return from the wedding; that when he comes and knocks, they may open unto him immediately. 37 Blessed are those servants, whom the adoniy when he comes shall find watching: Amein I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. 38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. 39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. 40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of A’dam comes at an hour when ye think not.

41 Then Kepha said unto him: Adonai, speak this parable unto us, or even to all? 42 And Adonai said: Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his adoniy shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? 43 Blessed is that servant, whom his adoniy when he comes shall find so doing. 44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he has. 45 But and if that servant says in his heart, My adoniy delays his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; 46 The adoniy of that servant will come in a day when he looks not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. 47 And that servant, who knew his adoniy’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? 50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! 51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

54 And he said also to the people: When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say: There comes a shower; and so it is. 55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say: There will be heat; and it comes to pass. 56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? 57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

58 When you go with your adversary to the magistrate, as you are in the way, give diligence that you may be delivered from him; lest he hale you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer cast you into prison. 59 I tell you, you shall not depart thence, till you have paid the very last mite.
