8-14 Bul (Kheshvan)
PARSHAT: Devariym 31:1-30
AND Mosheh went and spoke את eth-these words unto all Yisra’el. 2 And he said unto them, I am a hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: also YAHUAH has said unto me, You shall not go over את eth-this Yarden. 3 YAHUAH ELOHAYKA, he will go over before you, and he will destroy את eth-these nations from before you, and you shall possess them: and Yahusha, he shall go over before you, as YAHUAH has said. 4 And YAHUAH shall do unto them as he did to Ciychon and to Og, kings of the Emoriym, and unto the land of them, whom he destroyed. 5 And YAHUAH shall give them up before your face, that ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have commanded you. 6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for YAHUAH ELOHAYKA, he it is that goes with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you.
7 And Mosheh called unto Yahusha, and said unto him in the sight of all Yisra’el, Be strong and of a good courage: for you must go את eth-with this people unto the land which YAHUAH has sworn unto their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it. 8 And YAHUAH, he it is that goes before you; he will be with you, he will not fail you, neither forsake you: fear not, neither be dismayed.
9 And Mosheh wrote את eth-this Torah, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Leviy, which bore את eth-the Ark of the Covenant of YAHUAH, and unto all the elders of Yisra’el. 10 And Mosheh commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the Feast of Cukkoth, 11 When all Yisra’el is come to appear את eth-before YAHUAH ELOHAYKA in the place which he shall choose, you shall read את eth-this Torah before all Yisra’el in their hearing. 12 Gather את eth-the people together, men, and women, and children, and your stranger that is within your gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear את eth-YAHUAH ELOHAYKEM, and guard to do את eth-all the words of this Torah: 13 And that their children, which have not known anything, may hear, and learn to fear את eth-YAHUAH ELOHAYKEM, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over את eth-Yarden to possess it.
14 And YAHUAH said unto Mosheh, Behold, your days approach that you must die: call את eth-Yahusha, and present yourselves in the Tabernacle of the assembly, that I may give him a charge. And Mosheh and Yahusha went, and presented themselves in the Tabernacle of the assembly. 15 And YAHUAH appeared in the Tabernacle in a pillar of a cloud: and the pillar of the cloud stood over the door of the Tabernacle.
16 And YAHUAH said unto Mosheh, Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the elohiym of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break את eth-my covenant which I have cut with them. 17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our ELOHIYM is not among us? 18 And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other elohiym. 19 Now therefore write ye את eth-this song for you, and teach it את eth-the children of Yisra’el: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Yisra’el. 20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore unto their fathers, that flows with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other elohiym, and serve them, and provoke me, and break את eth-my covenant. 21 And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know את eth-their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I swore.
22 Mosheh therefore wrote את eth-this song the same day, and taught it את eth-the children of Yisra’el. 23 And he gave את eth-Yahusha the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of a good courage: for you shall bring את eth-the children of Yisra’el into the land which I swore unto them: and I will be with you.
24 And it came to pass, when Mosheh had made an end of writing את eth-the words of this Torah in a cepher, until they were finished, 25 That Mosheh commanded את eth-the Leviyiym, which bore the Ark of the Covenant of YAHUAH, saying, 26 Take את eth this Cepher of the Torah, and put it in the side of the Ark of the Covenant of YAHUAH ELOHAYKEM, that it may be there for a witness against you. 27 For I know את eth-your rebellion, and את eth-your stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against YAHUAH; and how much more after my death?
28 Gather unto me את eth-all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, את eth and call את eth-the heavens and את eth-the earth to record against them. 29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will את eth-do evil in the sight of YAHUAH, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands. 30 And Mosheh spoke in the ears of all the assembly of Yisra’el את eth-the words of this song, until they were ended.
HAFTARAH: Yesha`yahu 55:6 - 56:8
Seek ye YAHUAH while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto EL-YAHUAH, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our ELOHIYM, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says YAHUAH. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not thither, but waters את eth-the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish את eth-that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to YAHUAH for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
THUS says YAHUAH, Guard ye judgment, and do justice: for my yeshu`ah is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. 2 Blessed is the man that does this, and the son of Adam that lays hold on it; that guards the Shabbath from polluting it, and guards his hand from doing any evil.
3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that has joined himself to EL-YAHUAH, speak, saying, YAHUAH has utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. 4 For thus says YAHUAH unto the eunuchs that guard את eth-my Shabbathoth, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; 5 Even unto them will I give in my house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. 6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to YAHUAH, to serve him, and to love את eth-the name of YAHUAH, to be his servants, everyone that guards the Shabbath from polluting it, and takes hold of my covenant; 7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all people. 8 ADONAI YAHUAH which gathers the outcasts of Yisra’el says, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
BESORAH: Luqas 24:13-43
And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Yemiym, which was from Yerushalayim about threescore stadion.[i] 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, YAHUSHA himself drew near, and went with them. 16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. 17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? 18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Are you only a stranger in Yerushalayim, and have not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? 19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning YAHUSHA of Natsareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before YAH and all the people: 20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. 21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Yisra’el: and beside all this, today is the third day since these things were done. 22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; 23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive. 24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not. 25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Ought not MASHIACH to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning at Mosheh and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. 28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. 29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. 30 And it came to pass, as he sat to eat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and broke, and gave to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. 32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us את eth the Scriptures? 33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Yerushalayim, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, 34 Saying, ADONAI is risen indeed, and has appeared to Shim`on. 35 And they told what things את eth were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
36 And as they thus spoke, YAHUSHA himself stood in the midst of them, and said unto them, Peace be unto you. 37 But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed that they had seen a ruach. 38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a ruach has not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 40 And when he had thus spoken, he showed them את eth his hands and his feet. 41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? 42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of a honeycomb. 43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
