If ye walk in my statutes, and guard את eth-my commandments, and do them; 4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. 5 And your threshing shall reach את eth-unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach את eth-unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. 6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. 7 And ye shall chase את eth-your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. 8 And five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. 9 For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish את eth-my covenant with you. 10 And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new. 11 And I will set my Tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you. 12 And I will walk among you, and will be your ELOHIYM, and ye shall be my people. 13 I am YAHUAH ELOHAYKEM, which brought you forth out of the land of Mitsrayim, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.
14 But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do את eth all these commandments; 15 And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor את eth-my judgments, so that ye will not do את eth-all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: 16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, את eth-consumption, and את eth-the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursues you. 18 And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. 19 And I will break את eth-the pride of your power; and I will make את eth-your heaven as iron, and את eth-your earth as brass: 20 And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield את eth-her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.
21 And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins. 22 I will also send את eth-wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy את eth-your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate. 23 And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me; 24 Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins. 25 And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. 26 And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied. 27 And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me; 28 Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins. 29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat. 30 And I will destroy את eth-your high places, and cut down את eth-your images, and cast את eth-your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you. 31 And I will make את eth-your cities waste, and bring את eth-your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours. 32 And I will bring את eth-the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it. 33 And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste. 34 Then shall the land enjoy את eth-her Shabbathot, as long as it lies desolate, and ye be in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy את eth-her Shabbathot. 35 As long as it lies desolate it shall rest; את eth because it did not rest in your Shabbathot, when ye dwelt upon it. 36 And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursues. 37 And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursues: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies. 38 And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. 39 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them. 40 If they shall confess את eth-their iniquity, and את eth-the iniquity of their fathers, with their transgression which they transgressed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me; 41 And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of את eth-their iniquity: 42 Then will I remember את eth-my covenant with Ya`aqov, and also את eth-my covenant with Yitschaq, and also את eth-my covenant with Avraham will I remember; and I will remember the land. 43 The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy את eth-her Shabbathot, while she lies desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of את eth-their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred את eth-my statutes. 44 And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am YAHUAH ELOHAYHEM. 45 But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Mitsrayim in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their ELOHIYM: I am YAHUAH. 46 These are the commandments and judgments and Torah, which YAHUAH made between him and the children of Yisra’el in Mount Ciynai by the hand of Mosheh.
AND YAHUAH spoke unto Mosheh, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Yisra’el, and say unto them, When a man shall make a singular vow, the persons shall be for YAHUAH by your estimation. 3 And your estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even your estimation shall be fifty sheqels of silver, after the sheqel of the sanctuary. 4 And if it be a female, then your estimation shall be thirty sheqels. 5 And if it be from five years old even unto twenty years old, then your estimation shall be of the male twenty sheqels, and for the female ten sheqels. 6 And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then your estimation shall be of the male five sheqels of silver, and for the female your estimation shall be three sheqels of silver. 7 And if it be from sixty years old and above; if it be a male, then your estimation shall be fifteen sheqels, and for the female ten sheqels. 8 But if he be poorer than your estimation, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to his ability that vowed shall the priest value him. 9 And if it be a beast, whereof men bring an offering unto YAHUAH, all that any man gives of such unto YAHUAH shall be holy. 10 He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and the exchange thereof shall be holy. 11 And if it be any unclean beast, of which they do not offer a sacrifice unto YAHUAH, then he shall present את eth-the beast before the priest: 12 And the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad: as you value it, who are the priest, so shall it be. 13 But if he will at all redeem it, then he shall add a fifth part thereof unto your estimation.
14 And when a man shall sanctify את eth-his house to be holy unto YAHUAH, then the priest shall estimate it, whether it be good or bad: as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand. 15 And if he that sanctified it will redeem את eth-his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your estimation unto it, and it shall be his. 16 And if a man shall sanctify unto YAHUAH some part of a field of his possession, then your estimation shall be according to the seed thereof: a homer of barley seed shall be valued at fifty sheqels of silver. 17 If he sanctify his field from the Year of Jubilee, according to your estimation it shall stand. 18 But if he sanctify his field after the jubilee, then the priest shall reckon unto him את eth-the money according to the years that remain, even unto the Year of the Jubilee, and it shall be abated from your estimation. 19 And if he that sanctified את eth-the field will in any wise redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your estimation unto it, and it shall be assured to him. 20 And if he will not redeem את eth-the field, or if he have sold את eth-the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed anymore. 21 But the field, when it goes out in the jubilee, shall be holy unto YAHUAH, as a field devoted; the possession thereof shall be the priest's. 22 And if a man sanctify unto YAHUAH את eth-a field which he has bought, which is not of the fields of his possession; 23 Then the priest shall reckon unto him את eth the worth of your estimation, even unto the Year of the Jubilee: and he shall give את eth-your estimation in that day, as a holy thing unto YAHUAH. 24 In the Year of the Jubilee the field shall return unto him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land did belong. 25 And all your estimations shall be according to the sheqel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the sheqel.
26 Only the firstling of the beasts, which should be YAHUAH’S firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether it be ox, or sheep: it is YAHUAH’S. 27 And if it be of an unclean beast, then he shallredeem it according to your estimation, and shall add a fifth part of it thereto: or if it be not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your estimation. 28 Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote unto YAHUAH of all that he has, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto YAHUAH. 29 None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; but shall surely be put to death. 30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is YAHUAH’S: it is holy unto YAHUAH. 31 And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof. 32 And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto YAHUAH. 33 He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed. 34 These are the commandments, which YAHUAH commanded את eth-Mosheh for the children of Yisra’el in Mount Ciynai.
HAFTARAH: Yermiyahu 16:19 - 17:14
O YAHUAH, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the other people shall come unto you from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. 20 Shall a man make elohiym unto himself, and they are no elohiym? 21 Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know את eth-my hand and את eth-my might; and they shall know that my name is YAHUAH.
THE sin of Yahudah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars; 2 While their children remember their altars and their Asherah poles by the green trees upon the high hills. 3 O my mountain in the field, I will give your substance and all your treasures to the spoil, and your high places for sin, throughout all your borders. 4 And you, even yourself, shall discontinue from your heritage that I gave you; and I will cause you to serve את eth-your enemies in the land which you know not: for ye have kindled a fire in my anger, which shall burn forever.
5 Thus says YAHUAH; Cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from YAHUAH. 6 For he shall be like the juniper[i] in the desert, and shall not see when good comes; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. 7 Blessed is the man that trusts in YAHUAH, and whose hope YAHUAH is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreads out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I YAHUAH search the heart, I try the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. 11 As the partridge sits on eggs, and hatches them not; so he that gets riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.
12 A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary. 13 O YAHUAH, the Hope of Yisra’el, all that forsake you shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken את eth-YAHUAH, the fountain of living waters. 14 Heal me, O YAHUAH, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for you are my praise.
BESORAH: Lucas 14:1 - 15:32
AND it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Parashiym to eat bread on the Shabbat, that they watched him. 2 And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy. 3 And YAHUSHA answering spoke unto the lawyers and Parashiym, saying, Is it Lawful to heal on the Shabbat? 4 And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go; 5 And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the Shabbat? 6 And they could not answer him again to these things.
7 And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them, 8 When you are bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than you be bidden of him; 9 And he that bade you and him come and say to you, Give this man place; and you begin with shame to take the lowest room. 10 But when you are bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade you comes, he may say unto you, Friend, go up higher: then shall you have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with you. 11 For whosoever exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbles himself את eth shall be exalted.
12 Then said he also to him that bade him, When you make a dinner or a supper, call not your friends, nor your brethren, neither your kinsmen, nor your rich neighbours; lest they also bid you again, and a recompence be made you. 13 But when you make a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: 14 And you shall be blessed; for they cannot recompense you: for you shall be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
15 And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the Kingdom of YAHUAH. 16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: 17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. 18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray you have me excused. 19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray you have me excused. 20 And another said, I have married a woman, and therefore I cannot come. 21 So that servant came, and showed his master these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. 22 And the servant said, Master, it is done as you have commanded, and yet there is room. 23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.
25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them, 26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and woman, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my Talmidiy. 27 And whosoever does not take up his staff, and come after me, cannot be my Talmidiy. 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sits not down first, and counts the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? 29 Lest haply, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, 30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sits not down first, and consults whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an ambassage, and desires conditions of peace. 33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he has, he cannot be my Talmidiy.
34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? 35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
THEN drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him. 2 And the Parashiym and scribes murmured, saying, This man receives sinners, and eats with them.
3 And he spoke this parable unto them, saying, 4 What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. 7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, does not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? 9 And when she has found it, she calls her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found את eth the piece which I had lost. 10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of YAHUAH over one sinner that repents.
11 And he said, A certain man had two sons: 12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me. And he divided unto them his living. 13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. 14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. 15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. 17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before you, 19 And am no more worthy to be called your son: make me as one of your hired servants. 20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. 21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight, and am no more worthy to be called your son. 22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: 23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: 24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. 25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant. 27 And he said unto him, Your brother is come; and your father has killed the fatted calf, because he has received him safe and sound. 28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him. 29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve you, neither transgressed I at any time your commandment: and yet you never gave me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: 30 But as soon as this your son was come, which has devoured your living with harlots, you have killed for him the fatted calf. 31 And he said unto him, Son, you are ever with me, and all that I have is yours. 32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this your brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
