Are all followers of the Messiah considered part of Israel?

I have been listening to Dr. Pidgeon and others at Now You See TV, and I'm trying to wrap my mind around the concept of ISRAEL being all the believers in YAHUSHA regardless of if they have Jewish ancestry or not.

Can someone point me to some verses in the Bible (both Old & New Testament) that can help me to further understand this concept?

I found the following in Dr. Pidgeons blog entry titled "The rule for the alien."

    Yechezq’el (Ezekiel) 47:22-23
And it shall come to pass, that ye shall divide it by lot for an inheritance unto you, and to the strangers that sojourn among you, which shall beget children among you: and they shall be unto you as born in the country among the children of Yashar’el; they shall have inheritance with you among the tribes of Yashar’el. 23 And it shall come to pass, that in what tribe the stranger sojourns, there shall ye give him his inheritance, says ADONAI YAHUAH.

Are the original tribes of Israel & their ancestors considered to be superior in any way to followers of YAHUSHA that do not have direct Jewish ancestry? Please point me to verses, blog posts, etc that can help me to understand this concept of Israel being the whole of the people who believe in YAHUSHA the Messiah.

    Thank You

I apologize for the double posting of this topic; for some reason it did not post the first time. Then they both posted at once.
