Daniye’l and the Return of Babylon

There is a great book that was published in the 19th Century called The Two Babylons.  In this book, there is a discussion that examines the question of two Babylons.  Let’s see if there is scriptural support for this proposition, and what we might be able to determine.

In Daniye’l 4, Nevukadne’tstsar has a dream, and he calls in all the wise men of Babel, the magicians, the astrologers, the Kadsiym, and the soothsayers to interpret, but they cannot. He eventually calls in Daniye’l, and tells him the dream.

Daniye’l (Daniel) 4:10

Thus were the visions of my head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great. 11 The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth: 12 The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heavens dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it. 13 I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a Watcher and a holy one came down from heaven; 14 He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches: 15 Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth: 16 Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him. 17 This matter is by the decree of the Watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that EL ELYON rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will, and sets up over it the basest of men.

Daniye’l then goes on to give the interpretation:

Daniye’l (Daniel) 4:20-26

The tree that you saw, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heavens, and the sight thereof to all the earth; 21 Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heavens had their habitation: 22 It is you, O king, that are grown and become strong: for your greatness is grown, and reaches unto heaven, and your dominion to the end of the earth. 23 And whereas the king saw a Watcher and a holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him; 24 This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of EL ELYON, which is come upon my lord the king: 25 That they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make you to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, till you know that EL ELYON rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will. 26 And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; your kingdom shall be sure unto you, after that you shall have known that the heavens do rule.

Now it came to pass that twelve months later, this judgment came to pass, and Nevukadne’tstsar: . . . was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.  After the seven times has passed over him, his reason returned and his kingdom – Babel – was reestablished.

To understand this as prophecy, it is first necessary to understand the prophetic year, which is 360 days.  1,260 days is therefore a time, times, and half a time (3.5 x 360 = 1,260).

Daniye’l (Daniel) 7:25

And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

A Time = 1 year

Times = 2 years

Dividing of Times = 1/2 year.

360 X 3 =1080+180 = 1260

Daniye’l (Daniel) 12:7

And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and swore by him that lives for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

Chizayon (Revelation) 11:2

But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the other people: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

Forty two months = 42 X 30 = 1260

Two hundred and threescore = 1260

Chizayon (Revelation) 12:6

And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of ELOHIYM, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Chizayon (Revelation) 12:14

And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

Chizayon (Revelation) 13:5,8

And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months...and all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Given this understanding, we can see that seven times – assuming that times means a prophetic year, would yield the following equation: 7 x 360 = 2,520.  This prophecy is capable of predicting in the macro-fractal of 2,520 years, given the day equals a year understanding.  Yekhezq’el (Eze.) 4:6.

There is a second witness to this date:

Daniye’l (Daniel) 5:1-7

Ba`alsha’tstsar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his princes, and drank wine before the thousand. 2 Ba`alsha’tstsar, while he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nevukadne’tstsar had taken out of the Temple which was in Yerushalayim; that the king, and his princes, his women, and his concubines, might drink therein. 3 Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the Temple of the house of ELOAH which was at Yerushalayim; and the king, and his princes, his women, and his concubines, drank in them. 4 They drank wine, and praised the elohiym of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.

5 In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the menorah upon the plaister of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. 6 Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another. 7 The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Kasdiym, and the soothsayers. And the king spoke, and said to the wise men of Babel, Whosoever shall read this writing, and show me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.

And, as was the case previously with the father of Ba’alsha’tstsar, Daniye’l was called to interpret that which had been written.

Daniye’l (Daniel) 5:24-30

Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written. 25 And this is the writing that was written, MENA, MENA, SHAQAL, PARAC.  26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENA; ELOAH has numbered your kingdom, and finished it. 27 SHAQAL; You are weighed in the balances, and are found wanting. 28 PARAC; Your kingdom is divided, and given to the Madai and Persians. 29 Then commanded Ba`alsha’tstsar, and they clothed Dani-ye’l with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom. 30 In that night was Ba`alsha’tstsar the king of the Kasdiym slain. 31 And Dar`yavesh the Madai took the kingdom, being about three-score and two years old.

A MENE was equal to 50 shekels (shaqals); the SHAQAL was worth 1 shekel, and a PARAC was worth 25 shekels, the sum being equal to 126 shekels (50+50+1+25). The shekel is worth 20 gerahs (Ezekiel 45:12). This would then mean that 126 sheqels equals 2,520 gerahs.  Here is the second witness to the number 2,520.

Before we go any further, we must consider that the Hebrew calendar is a solar-lunar calendar.  The Gregorian calendar is exclusively a solar calendar, and the Islamic calendar is exclusively a lunar calendar.  Therefore the Hebrew calendar justifies itself to the solar calendar yearly (although sometimes by means of a thirteenth month).  Therefore the 360 day calculation in an accumulation of years is not warranted.  A Hebrew year is a Gregorian year, though they start at different places.

Babel (Babylon), the stump with the band of iron and brass (the symbols of the Roman Empire described later in Daniye’l) is to be restored 2,520 days later.  However, in the prophetic, this means 2,520 years, where a day equals a year.  Let us then consider the date when this prophecy was first given.

Melekiym Sheniy (2 Kings) 25:8-11

And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king Nevukadne’tstsar king of Babel, came Nevuzar’adan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babel, unto Yerushalayim: 9 And he burnt את eth-the house of YAHUAH, and את eth-the king's house, and את eth-all the houses of Yerushalayim, and את eth-every great man's house burnt he with fire. 10 And all the army of the Kasdiym, that were with the captain of the guard, broke down את eth-the walls of Yerushalayim round about. 11 Now את eth-the rest of the people that were left in the city, and את eth-the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babel, with את eth the remnant of the multitude, did Nevuzar’adan the captain of the guard carry away.

The historical record indicates that Nevukadne’tstsar began his reign in 605 B.C. Therefore, Nevuzar’adan completed the destruction of Yerushalayim and the carrying away of the remnant in 586 B.C. Another artifact indicates that Nevukadne’tstsar entered into Mitsrayim in the 37th year of his reign, which places his Egyptian advance in the 568 B.C., which places the date of his seven year infirmity at 575 B.C.

From here we can reckon our calculation, which is simply, 2,520 – 575 B.C.  The year that emerges is 1945 A.D. – the year of the reemergence of Babylon as the governing kingdom over the whole world.

Historically, the United Nations Conference on International Organization began in San Francisco on April 25, 1945. The fifty nations represented at the conference signed the Charter of the United Nations on June 26, 1945. The Governments of the Republic of China, France, the USSR, the United Kingdom, and the United States ratified the charter on October 24, 1945, and the United Nations was officially formed.  The house of Babel within the house of Yisra’el is formed and institutionalized in New York City in 1945, 2,520 years following the date of the prophecy.
