23 Sheliyshiy (Sivan) - 29 Sheliyshiy (Sivan)
PARSHAT: Vayiqra 25:1 - 26:2
AND YAHUAH spoke unto Mosheh in Mount Ciynai, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Yashar’el, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a Shabbath unto YAHUAH. 3 Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather in את eth-the fruit thereof; 4 But in the seventh year shall be a Shabbath of rest unto the land, a Shabbath for YAHUAH: you shall neither sow your field, nor prune your vineyard. 5 את eth That which grows of its own accord of your harvest you shall not reap, neither gather את eth-the grapes of your vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land. 6 And the Shabbath of the land shall be food for you; for you, and for your servant, and for your maid, and for your hired servant, and for your stranger that sojourns with you, 7 And for your cattle, and for the beast that are in your land, shall all the increase thereof be meat.
8 And you shall number seven Shabbathoth of years unto you, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven Shabbathoth of years shall be unto you forty and nine years. 9 Then shall you cause the shofar of the jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in Yom Kippuriym shall ye make the shofar sound throughout all your land. 10 And ye shall hallow את eth the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family. 11 A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that את eth-which grows of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of את eth-your vine undressed. 12 For it is the jubilee; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat את eth-the increase thereof out of the field. 13 In the year of this jubilee ye shall return every man unto his possession. 14 And if you sell ought unto your neighbour, or buy ought of your neighbour's hand, ye shall not oppress את eth-one another: 15 According to the number of years after the jubilee you shall buy of your neighbour, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he shall sell unto you: 16 According to the multitude of years you shall increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of years you shall diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the fruits he sells unto you. 17 Ye shall not therefore oppress את eth-one another; but you shall fear your ELOHIYM: for I am YAHUAH ELOHAYKEM.
18 Wherefore ye shall do את eth-my statutes, and guard את eth-my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety. 19 And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety. 20 And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in את eth-our increase: 21 Then I will command את eth-my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth את eth-fruit for three years. 22 And ye shall sow את eth the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store.
23 The land shall not be sold forever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me. 24 And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.
25 If your brother be waxen poor, and has sold away some of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem את eth that which his brother sold. 26 And if the man have none to redeem it, and himself be able to redeem it; 27 Then let him count את eth-the years of the sale thereof, and restore את eth-the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession. 28 But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that has bought it until the Year of Jubilee: and in the jubilee it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession. 29 And if a man sell a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; within a full year may he redeem it. 30 And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be established forever to him that bought it throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubilee. 31 But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be counted as the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubilee. 32 Notwithstanding the cities of the Leviyiym, and the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Leviyiym redeem at any time. 33 And if a man purchase of the Leviyiym, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the Year of Jubilee: for the houses of the cities of the Leviyiym are their possession among the children of Yashar’el. 34 But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.
35 And if your brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with you; then you shall relieve him: yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with you. 36 Take no usury of him, or increase: but fear your ELOHIYM; that your brother may live with you. 37 You shall not give him את eth-your money upon usury, nor lend him your victuals for increase. 38 I am YAHUAH ELOHAYKEM, which brought you forth out of the land of Mitsrayim, to give you את eth-the land of Kena`an, and to be your ELOHIYM.
39 And if your brother that dwells by you be waxen poor, and be sold unto you; you shall not compel him to serve as a bondservant: 40 But as a hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with you, and shall serve you unto the Year of Jubilee: 41 And then shall he depart from you, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return. 42 For they are my servants, which I brought forth out of the land of Mitsrayim: they shall not be sold as bondmen. 43 You shall not rule over him with rigour; but shall fear your ELOHIYM. 44 Both your bondmen, and your bondmaids, which you shall have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids. 45 Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession. 46 And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen forever: but over your brethren the children of Yashar’el, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.
47 And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by you, and your brother that dwells by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by you, or to the stock of the stranger's family: 48 After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him: 49 Either his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself. 50 And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the Year of Jubilee: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of a hired servant shall it be with him. 51 If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for. 52 And if there remain but few years unto the Year of Jubilee, then he shall count with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of את eth-his redemption. 53 And as a yearly hired servant shall he be with him: and the other shall not rule with rigour over him in your sight. 54 And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the Year of Jubilee, both he, and his children with him. 55 For unto me the children of Yashar’el are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Mitsrayim: I am YAHUAH ELOHAYKEM.
YE shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am YAHUAH ELOHAYKEM.
2 Ye shall guard את eth-my Shabbathoth, and reverence my sanctuary: I am YAHUAH.
HAFTORAH: Yirmeyahu 32:6-27
And Yirmeyahu said, The Word of YAHUAH came unto me, saying, 7 Behold, Chanam’el[i] the son of Shallum your uncle shall come unto you, saying, Buy you את eth-my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is yours to buy it. 8 So Chanam’el my uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the Word of YAHUAH, and said unto me, Buy את eth-my field, I pray you, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Binyamiyn: for the right of inheritance is yours, and the redemption is yours; buy it for yourself. Then I knew that this was the Word of YAHUAH. 9 And I bought the את eth-field of Chanam’el my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him את eth-the money, even seventeen sheqels of silver. 10 And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances. 11 So I took את eth-the evidence of the purchase, both את eth-that which was sealed according to the commandment and custom, and that את eth-which was open: 12 And I gave את eth-the evidence of the purchase unto Baruk[ii] the son of Neriyahu,[iii] the son of Ma`aseyahu, in the sight of Chanam’el my uncle's son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the cepher of the purchase, before all the Yahudiym that sat in the court of the prison.
13 And I charged את eth-Baruk before them, saying, 14 Thus says YAHUAH TSEVA’OTH, the ELOHAI of Yashar’el; Take את eth-these evidences, את eth this evidence of the purchase, both את eth which is sealed, and את eth this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days. 15 For thus says YAHUAH TSEVA’OTH, the ELOHAI of Yashar’el; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.
16 Now when I had delivered את eth-the evidence of the purchase unto Baruk the son of Neriyahu, I prayed unto EL-YAHUAH, saying, 17 Ah ADONAI YAHUAH! behold, you have made את eth-the heavens and את eth-the earth by your great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for you: 18 You show lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompense the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: HA’GADOL, HA’EL GIBBOR: YAHUAH TSEVA’OTH, is his name, 19 Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for your eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give everyone according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings: 20 Which have set signs and wonders in the land of Mitsrayim, even unto this day, and in Yashar’el, and among other men; and have made you a name, as at this day; 21 And have brought forth את eth-your people את eth-Yashar’el out of the land of Mitsrayim with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror; 22 And have given them את eth-this land, which you did swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey; 23 And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not your voice, neither walked in your Torah; they have done nothing of את eth all that you commanded them to do: therefore you have caused את eth all this evil to come upon them: 24 Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Kasdiym, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what you have spoken is come to pass; and, behold, you see it. 25 And you have said unto me, O ADONAI YAHUAH, Buy the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Kasdiym.
26 Then came the Word of YAHUAH unto El-Yirmeyahu, saying, 27 Behold, I am YAHUAH, the ELOHAI of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?
BESORAH: Luqas 13:1-33; Yahuchanon 10:22-42
THERE were present at that season some that told him of the Galiyliym, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And YAHUSHA answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galiyliym were sinners above all the Galiyliym, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Shiloach fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Yerushalayim? 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
6 He spoke also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. 7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbers it את eth the ground? 8 And he answering said unto him, my lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: 9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that you shall cut it down. 10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Shabbath.
11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a ruach of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. 12 And when YAHUSHA saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity. 13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified YAH. 14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that YAHUSHA had healed on the Shabbath, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the Shabbath. 15 ADONAI then answered him, and said, You hypocrite, do not each one of you on the Shabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? 16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Avraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Shabbath? 17 And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
18 Then said he, Unto what is the Kingdom of YAHUAH like? and whereunto shall I resemble it? 19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it. 20 And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken את eth the Kingdom of YAHUAH? 21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. 22 And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Yerushalayim. 23 Then said one unto him, ADONAI, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and has shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, ADONAI, ADONAI, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. 28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see את eth-Avraham, and Yitschaq, and Ya`aqov, and את eth all the prophets, in the Kingdom of YAHUAH, and you yourselves thrust out. 29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the Kingdom of YAHUAH. 30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
31 The same day there came certain of the Parashiym, saying unto him, Get you out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill you. 32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected. 33 Nevertheless I must walk today, and tomorrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Yerushalayim.
And it was at Yerushalayim the Feast of Chanukkah,[iv] and it was winter. 23 And YAHUSHA walked in the Temple in Shalomah's Porch. 24 Then came the Yahudiym round about him, and said unto him, How long do you make us to doubt? If you be HAMASHIACH, tell us plainly. 25 YAHUSHA answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. 26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and my Father are yachad. 31 Then the Yahudiym took up stones again to stone him. 32 YAHUSHA answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33 The Yahudiym answered him, saying, For a good work we stone you not; but for blasphemy; and because that you, being a man, make yourself את eth-ELOHIYM. 34 YAHUSHA answered them, Is it not written in the Writings: I said, Ye are elohiym? 35 If he called them elohiym, unto whom the Word of YAHUAH came, and the Scripture cannot be broken; 36 Say ye of him, whom the Father has sanctified, and sent into the world, You blaspheme; because I said, I am the Son of ELOHIYM? 37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. 39 Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand, 40 And went away again beyond the Yardan into the place where Yahuchanon at first immersed; and there he abode. 41 And many resorted unto him, and said, Yahuchanon did no miracle: but all things that Yahuchanon spoke of this man were true. 42 And many believed on him there.
