13-19 Shelishiy Khodesh (Sivan)

PARASHAT: Bemidbar 4:21 - 7:89

AND YAHUAH spoke unto El-Mosheh, saying, 22 Take also את eth-the sum of the sons of Gershon, throughout the houses of their fathers, by their families; 23 From thirty years old and upward until fifty years old shall you number them; all that enter in to perform the service, to do the work in the Tabernacle of the assembly. 24 This is the service of the families of the Gereshunniym, to serve, and for burdens: 25 And they shall bear את eth-the curtains of the Tabernacle, and את eth-the Tabernacle of the assembly, his covering, and the covering of the badgers' skins that is above upon it, and את eth-the hanging for the door of the Tabernacle of the assembly, 26 And את eth the hangings of the court, and את eth-the hanging for the door of the gate of the court, which is by the Tabernacle and by the altar round about, and את eth their cords, and את eth-all the instruments of their service, and את eth all that is made for them: so shall they serve. 27 At the appointment of Aharon and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gereshunniym, in all their burdens, and in all their service: and ye shall appoint unto them in charge את eth all their burdens. 28 This is the service of the families of the sons of Gershon in the Tabernacle of the as-sembly: and their charge shall be under the hand of Iythamar the son of Aharon the priest.

29 As for the sons of Merariy, you shall number them after their families, by the house of their fathers; 30 From thirty years old and up-ward even unto fifty years old shall you number them, everyone that enters into the service, to do את eth-the work of the Tabernacle of the assem-bly. 31 And this is the charge of their burden, according to all their service in the Tabernacle of the assembly; the boards of the Tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and sockets thereof, 32 And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords, with all their instruments, and with all their service: and by name ye shall reck-on את eth-the instruments of the charge of their burden. 33 This is the service of the families of the sons of Merariy, according to all their service, in the Tabernacle of the assembly, under the hand of Iythamar the son of Aharon the priest.

34 And Mosheh and Aharon and the chief of the assembly numbered את eth-the sons of the Qohathiym after their families, and after the house of their fathers, 35 From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every-one that enters into the service, for the work in the Tabernacle of the assembly: 36 And those that were numbered of them by their families were two thousand seven hundred and fifty. 37 These were they that were numbered of the fami-lies of the Qohathiym, all that might do service in the Tabernacle of the assembly, which Mosheh and Aharon did number according to the com-mand¬ment of YAHUAH by the hand of Mosheh. 38 And those that were numbered of the sons of Gershon, throughout their families, and by the house of their fathers, 39 From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, everyone that enters into the service, for the work in the Tabernacle of the assembly, 40 Even those that were numbered of them, throughout their fami-lies, by the house of their fathers, were two thou-sand and six hundred and thirty. 41 These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, of all that might do service in the Tabernacle of the assembly, whom Mosheh and Aharon did number according to the com-mandment of YAHUAH.

42 And those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merariy, throughout their families, by the house of their fathers, 43 From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, everyone that entered into the service, for the work in the Tabernacle of the assembly, 44 Even those that were numbered of them after their families, were three thousand and two hun-dred. 45 These be those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merariy, whom Mosheh and Aharon numbered according to the Word of YAHUAH by the hand of Mosheh. 46 All those that were numbered of את eth-the Levi-yiym, whom Mosheh and Aharon and the chief of Yisra’el numbered, after their families, and after the house of their fathers, 47 From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every-one that came to do the service of the ministry, and the service of the burden in the Tabernacle of the assembly, 48 Even those that were num-bered of them, were eight thousand and five hundred and fourscore. 49 According to the commandment of YAHUAH they were numbered by the hand of Mosheh, everyone according to his service, and according to his burden: thus were they numbered of him, as YAHUAH com-manded את eth-Mosheh.

CHAPTER 5

AND YAHUAH spoke unto El-Mosheh, saying, 2 Command את eth-the children of Yisra’el, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every-one that has an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead: 3 Both male and female shall ye put out, without the camp shall ye put them; that they defile not את eth-their camps, in the midst whereof I dwell. 4 And the children of Yisra’el did so, and put them out without the camp: as YA-HUAH spoke unto Mosheh, so did the children of Yisra’el.

5 And YAHUAH spoke unto Mosheh, saying, 6 Speak unto the children of Yisra’el, When a man or woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do a transgression against YA-HUAH, and that person be guilty; 7 Then they shall confess את eth-their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense את eth-his tres-pass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he has trespassed. 8 But if the man have no kinsman to recompense the trespass unto, let the trespass be recom¬pensed unto YAHUAH, even to the priest; beside the ram of the atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for him. 9 And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Yisra’el, which they bring unto the priest, shall be his. 10 And every man's את eth-hallowed things shall be his: whatsoever any man gives the priest, it shall be his.

11 And YAHUAH spoke unto Mosheh, saying, 12 Speak unto the children of Yisra’el, and say unto them, If any man's woman go aside, and commit a transgression against him, 13 And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her man, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witness against her, nei-ther she be taken with the manner; 14 And the ruach of jealousy come upon him, and he be jeal-ous of את eth-his woman, and she be defiled: or if the ruach of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of את eth-his woman, and she be not defiled: 15 Then shall the man bring את eth-his woman unto the priest, and he shall bring את eth-her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offer-ing of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance. 16 And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before YAHUAH: 17 And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the Tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water: 18 And the priest shall set את eth-the woman before YAHUAH, and uncover את eth-the woman's head, and put את eth the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causes the curse: 19 And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with you, and if you have not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of your man, be free from this bitter water that causes the curse: 20 But את eth if you have gone aside to another instead of your man, and if you be defiled, and some man have lain את eth-with you beside your man: 21 Then the priest shall charge את eth-the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, YAHUAH make you a curse and an oath among your people, when YAHUAH makes את eth-your thigh to rot, and את eth-your belly to swell; 22 And this water that causes the curse shall go into your bowels, to make your belly to swell, and your thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amein, Amein. 23 And the priest shall write את eth-these curses in a cepher, and he shall blot them out with the bitter water: 24 And he shall cause את eth-the woman to drink את eth-the bitter water that causes the curse: and the water that causes the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter. 25 Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman's hand, את eth and shall wave את eth-the offering before YAHUAH, and offer it upon the altar: 26 And the priest shall take a handful of the offering, even את eth-the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause את eth-the wom-an to drink the water. 27 And when he has made her to drink את eth-the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done transgression against her man, that the water that causes the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people. 28 And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed. 29 This is the Torah of jeal-ousies, when a woman goes aside to another instead of her man, and is defiled; 30 Or when the ruach of jealousy comes upon him, and he be jealous over את eth-his woman, and shall set את eth-the woman before YAHUAH, and the priest shall execute upon her את eth all this Torah. 31 Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman shall bear את eth-her iniquity.

CHAPTER 6

AND YAHUAH spoke unto El-Mosheh, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Yisra’el, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Naziyr,  to sepa-rate themselves unto YAHUAH: 3 He shall sepa-rate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. 4 All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk. 5 All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separates himself unto YAHUAH, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow. 6 All the days that he separates himself unto YAHUAH he shall come at no dead body. 7 He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecra¬tion of his ELOHIYM is upon his head. 8 All the days of his separation he is holy unto YAHUAH. 9 And if any man die very suddenly by him, and he has defiled the head of his consecration; then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day shall he shave it. 10 And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons, to the priest, to the door of the Tabernacle of the as-sembly: 11 And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, and make an atonement for him, for that he sinned by the dead, and shall hallow את eth-his head that same day. 12 And he shall consecrate unto YAHUAH את eth-the days of his separation, and shall bring a lamb of the first year for a tres-pass offering: but the days that were before shall be lost, because his separation was defiled.

13 And this is the Torah of the Naziyr, when the days of his separation are fulfilled: he shall be brought unto the door of the Tabernacle of the assembly: 14 And he shall offer את eth-his offering unto YAHUAH, one he lamb of the first year without blemish for a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish for a sin offering, and one ram without blemish for peace offerings, 15 And a basket of matstsah, cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, and wafers of matstsah anointed with oil, and their meat offer-ing, and their drink offerings. 16 And the priest shall bring them before YAHUAH, and shall offer את eth-his sin offering, and את eth-his burnt of-fering: 17 And he shall offer את eth-the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings unto YAHUAH, with the basket of matstsah: the priest shall offer also את eth-his meat offering, and את eth-his drink offering. 18 And the Naziyr shall shave the head of his separation at the door of the Tabernacle of the assembly, and shall take את eth-the hair of את eth-the head of his separation, and put it in the fire which is under the sacrifice of the peace offerings. 19 And the priest shall take את eth-the sodden shoulder of the ram, and one matstsah cake out of the basket, and one matstsah wafer, and shall put them upon את eth-the hands of the Naziyr, after the hair of his separation is shaven: 20 And the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before YAHUAH: this is holy for the priest, with the wave breast and heave shoulder: and after that the Naziyr may drink wine. 21 This is the Torah of the Naziyr who has vowed, and of his offering unto YAHUAH for his separation, beside that that his hand shall get: according to the vow which he vowed, so he must do after the Torah of his separation.

22 And YAHUAH spoke unto Mosheh, saying, 23 Speak unto El-Aharon and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless את eth-the children of Yisra’el, saying unto them, 24 YAHUAH bless you, and guard you: 25 YAHUAH make his face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you: 26 YAHUAH lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. 27 And they shall put את eth-my name upon the children of Yis-ra’el; and I will bless them.

CHAPTER 7

AND it came to pass on the day that Mosheh had fully set up את eth-the Tabernacle, and had anointed it, and sanctified it, and את eth-all the instruments thereof, both את eth-the altar and את eth-all the vessels thereof, and had anointed them, and sanctified them; 2 That the princes of Yisra’el, heads of the house of their fathers, who were the princes of the tribes, and were over them that were numbered, offered: 3 And they brought את eth-their offering before YAHUAH, six covered wagons, and twelve oxen; a wagon for two of the princes, and for each one an ox: and they brought them before the Tabernacle. 4 And YAHUAH spoke unto Mosheh, saying, 5 Take it of them, that they may be to do את eth-the service of the Tabernacle of the assembly; and you shall give them unto the Leviyiym, to every man ac-cording to his service. 6 And Mosheh took את eth-the wagons and את eth-the oxen, and gave them unto the Leviyiym. 7 את eth Two wagons and את eth four oxen he gave unto the sons of Gershon, according to their service: 8 And את eth four wagons and את eth eight oxen he gave unto the sons of Merariy, according unto their service, under the hand of Iythamar the son of Aharon the priest. 9 But unto the sons of Qohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary be-longing unto them was that they should bear upon their shoulders.

HAFTARAH: Shofetyim 13:2-25

AND there was a certain man of Tsor`ah, of the family of the Daniym,  whose name was Manoach;  and his woman was barren, and bore not. 3 And the angel of YAHUAH appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, את eth-you are barren, and bear not: but you shall conceive, and bear a son. 4 Now therefore beware, I pray you, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: 5 For, lo, you shall conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Naziyr unto ELOHIYM from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver את eth-Yisra’el out of the hand of the Pelishtiym.

6 Then the woman came and told her man, saying, A man of ELOHIYM came unto me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of ELOHIYM, very terrible: but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me את eth-his name: 7 But he said unto me, Behold, you shall conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Naziyr to ELOHIYM from the womb to the day of his death.

8 Then Manoach intreated EL-YAHUAH, and said, O my ADONAI, let the man of ELOHIYM which you did send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born. 9 And ELOHIYM hearkened to the voice of Manoach; and the angel of ELOHIYM came again unto the woman as she sat in the field: but Manoach her man was not with her. 10 And the woman made haste, and ran, and showed her man, and said unto him, Behold, the man has appeared unto me, that came unto me the other day. 11 And Manoach arose, and went after his woman, and came to the man, and said unto him, Are you the man that spoke unto the woman? And he said, I am. 12 And Manoach said, Now let your words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and how shall we do unto him? 13 And the angel of YAHUAH said unto Manoach, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware. 14 She may not eat of anything that comes of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her guard.

15 And Manoach said unto the angel of YAHUAH, I pray you, let us detain you, until we shall have made ready a kid for you. 16 And the angel of YAHUAH said unto Manoach, Though you detain me, I will not eat of your bread: and if you will offer a burnt offering, you must offer it unto YAHUAH. For Manoach knew not that he was an angel of YAHUAH. 17 And Manoach said unto the angel of YAHUAH, What is your name, that when your sayings come to pass we may do you honour? 18 And the angel of YAHUAH said unto him, Why ask you thus after my name, see-ing it is secret? 19 So Manoach took את eth-a kid with את eth-a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto YAHUAH: and the angel did wondrous-ly; and Manoach and his woman looked on. 20 For it came to pass, when the flame went up to-ward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of YAHUAH ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoach and his woman looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground. 21 But the angel of YAHUAH did no more appear to Manoach and to his woman. Then Manoach knew that he was an angel of YAHUAH. 22 And Manoach said unto his woman, We shall surely die, because we have seen ELOHIYM. 23 But his woman said unto him, If YAHUAH were pleased to kill us, he would not have received את eth-a burnt offering and a meat offering at our hands, neither would he have showed us all these things, nor would as at this time have told us such things as these.

24 And the woman bore a son, and called את eth-his name Shim¬shon:  and the child grew, and YAHUAH blessed him. 25 And the RUACH YAHUAH began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Tsor`ah and Eshta’ol.

BESORAH: Yahuchanon 11:1-54

NOW a certain man was sick, named El`azar, of Bethany, the town of Miryam and her sister Mar-tha. 2 (It was that Miryam which anointed את eth-ADONAI with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother El`azar was sick.) 3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, AD-ONAI, behold, he whom you love is sick. 4 When YAHUSHA heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of YAH, that the Son of ELOHIYM might be glorified thereby. 5 Now YAHUSHA loved את eth Martha, and her sister, and El`azar. 6 When he had heard there-fore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was. 7 Then after that said he to his Talmidiym, Let us go into Yahudah again. 8 His Talmidiym say unto him, Master, the Yahudiym of late sought to stone you; and go you thither again? 9 YAHUSHA answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbles not, because he sees the light of this world. 10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbles, because there is no light in him. 11 These things said he: and after that he said unto them, Our friend El`azar sleeps; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. 12 Then said his Talmidiym, ADONAI, if he sleep, he shall do well. 13 Howbeit YAHUSHA spoke of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. 14 Then said YAHUSHA unto them plainly, El`azar is dead. 15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him. 16 Then said Ta’om, which is called Didy-mus, unto his fellow Talmidiym, Let us also go, that we may die with him.

17 Then when YAHUSHA came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days al-ready. 18 Now Bethany was nigh unto Yerushalayim, about fifteen stadion off: 19 And many of the Yahudiym came to Martha and Miryam, to comfort them concerning their broth-er. 20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that YAHUSHA was coming, went and met him: but Miryam sat still in the house. 21 Then said Mar-tha unto YAHUSHA, ADONAI, if you had been here, my brother had not died. 22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever you will ask of YAH, YAHUAH will give it you. 23 YAHUSHA said unto her, Your brother shall rise again. 24 Martha said unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. 25 YAHUSHA said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever lives and be-lieves in me shall never die. Do you believe this? 27 She said unto him, Yea, ADONAI: I believe that you are HAMASHIACH, the Son of ELOHIYM, which should come into the world. 28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Miryam her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calls for you. 29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him. 30 Now YAHUSHA was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him. 31 The Yahudiym then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Miryam, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goes unto the grave to weep there. 32 Then when Miryam was come where YAHUSHA was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, ADONAI, if you had been here, my brother had not died. 33 When YAHUSHA therefore saw her weeping, and the Yahudiym also weeping which came with her, he groaned in his ruach, and was troubled, 34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, ADONAI, come and see. 35 YAHUSHA wept. 36 Then said the Yahudiym, Behold how he loved him! 37 And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died? 38 YAHUSHA therefore again groaning in himself came to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. 39 YAHUSHA said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, said unto him, ADONAI, by this time he stinketh: for he has been dead four days. 40 YA-HUSHA said unto her, Said I not unto you, that, if you would believe, you should see the glory of YAHUAH? 41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And YA-HUSHA lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 And I knew that you hear me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that you have sent me. 43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, El`azar, come forth. 44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave-clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. YAHUSHA said unto them, Loose him, and let him go. 45 Then many of the Yahudiym which came to Miryam, and had seen the things which YAHUSHA did, believed on him. 46 But some of them went their ways to the Parashiym, and told them what things YAHUSHA had done.

47 Then gathered the chief priests and the Parashiym a council, and said, What do we? for this man does many miracles. 48 If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romaiym shall come and take away both our place and nation. 49 And one of them, named Qayapha, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all, 50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not. 51 And this spoke he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that YAHUSHA should die for that nation; 52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the chil-dren of YAHUAH that were scattered abroad. 53 Then from that day forth they took counsel to-gether for to put him to death. 54 YAHUSHA therefore walked no more openly among the Yahudiym; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephrayim, and there continued with his Talmidiym.
