Today we look at what Scripture calls the Pecach (Passover).

YAHUAH gives specific instructions to the following:

Shemoth (Exodus) 12:1-13
AND YAHUAH spoke unto El-Mosheh and El-Aharon in the land of Mitsrayim, saying, 2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

3 Speak ye unto all the assembly of Yashar’el, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for a house: 4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. 5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole multitude of the assembly of Yashar’el shall kill it in the evening. 7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. 8 And they shall eat את eth-the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and matstsah; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. 9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof. 10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remains of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.

11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is YAHUAH’S Pecach12 For I will pass through the land of Mitsrayim this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Mitsrayim, both man and beast; and against all the elohai of Mitsrayim I will execute judgment: I am YAHUAH. 13 And the blood shall be to you for a mark upon the houses where ye are: and when I see את eth-the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Mitsrayim.

Qorintiym Ri'shon (1 Corinthians) 5:6-8
Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are matstsah. For even HAMASHIACH our Pecach is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the Feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the matstsah of sincerity and truth.

Pa'al (Paul) is commanding the assembly in Qorinthus (Corinth) to keep the Feast of Pecach because it points to their Messiah who was crucified for them. In fact YAHUSHA himself addressed this to his Talmidiym (disciples) when he said to do the Pecach in remembrance of him (Luqas (Luke) 22:19) as he is the fulfillment of this blessed feast.

So we see the connection of Exodus 12 with 1 Corinthians 5.

In fact to give you a little deeper study, here is the Hebrew:

Strongs H6453 defines Pecach (Passover) as:

פֶּסַח peçach, peh'-sakh

from H6452; a pretermission, i.e. exemption; used only technically of the Passover (the feast or the victim):—passover (offering).

But the root of this word is from Strongs H6452:

פָּסַח pâçach, paw-sakh'

a primitive root; to hop, i.e. (figuratively) skip over (or spare); by implication, to hesitate; also (literally) to limp, to dance:—halt, become lame, leap, pass over.

If you are reading this blog, and you have never seen the connection of the Pecach (Passover) with the crucifixion of YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH, please understand the Scriptures are about one people (Yashar'el), and one Belief, and one Torah, and one Besorah (Gospel) and one immersion, one household. Pa'al is not teaching you a new faith, he is showing you how MASHIACH is the fulfillment. We need to read the beginning of the book to understand the end of the book.

I encourage you to keep digging and keep using the incredible search function this app has to offer which allows you to dig deep into the text.

Shalom my app users.
